Say hello to the Rocky Patel A.L.R. 2nd Edition cigars, the follow-up to the critically-acclaimed A.L.R. released in 2018. This A.L.R., which stands for Aged, Limited & Rare, swaps-out the first edition’s Habano wrapper for a dark, oily Mexican San Andrés leaf over Nicaraguan binder and fillers.

Explaining how the A.L.R. selection came about, Rocky said, “I remember in early 2015, there was this blend I kept coming back to. I was down in the factory working on new brands, and this one fulfilled an idea we had – maturing fully rolled cigars for greater complexity.”

So, rather than release the A.L.R. when they would normally be ready, Rocky aged the cigars for an additional amount of time until he decided they were ready for market. The same goes for this 2nd Edition which was blended in 2016 and has been cedar aged for an additional two years. Moreover, not only is the blend entirely new, but unlike the first edition, the Rocky Patel A.L.R. 2nd Edition is box-pressed – one of Rocky’s personal preferences. The result is a medium bodied cigar that delivers notes of cocoa and graham cracker intertwined with hints of espresso.

Limited to 120,00 cigars, the Rocky Patel A.L.R. 2nd Edition is handcrafted at Rocky’s Tavicusa factory in three sizes, Robusto (5 x 50), Toro. (6 x 52), and Sixty (6 x 60). The cigars are presented in 20-count boxes, as well as 5-packs and singles. If you’re a Rocky fan, a lover of superb Nicaraguan blends, or have had the pleasure of the first A.L.R., you’d would be wise to add the 2nd Edition to your humidor poste-haste!
